If You Have Multiple Passions In Life, Do This

Being one-dimensional is risky.

I am on the side of niche writing. But I was not always like that.

I was a child who loved to be everything at once.

I dreamed of being a Writer.

I dreamed of being a Teacher.

I dreamed of being a Doctor.

I dreamed of being a Scientist.

I dreamed of being a Traveler.

And so on and on.

The list is never-ending.

I can still remember one of my cousins used to say to me, “If you want to do everything, then you won’t do anything.” That was true once. Yes, everything can’t be done at the same time. I agree with it now. I realize it now. But you can utilize it in a positive way. Like creating an interrelation among them, then look: it’s a new niche, different and unique. Like in chemistry, When different chemical elements react, they can form new compounds through chemical reactions.

That is how, after mixing all of your passions, you find your niche. Then stick to it. It will remove your obstacles to becoming the same as others. You will be new. You will be unique. That’s a new copy. If you want to update, then be multi-dimensional and create a new unique niche. Being one-dimensional is risky. You will fall into the rat race. It is tough to differentiate yourself from others. And you will blame the topic by saying it’s saturated.

All innovation happens at the intersection of two or more things. You don’t come up with anything new by keeping your eyes on one niche only.

I saw many writers burn out after a few pieces. They don’t have ideas to write about. Why? Because they don’t look or even think of new things.

I know, everything is not possible to do immediately. But I can think. I have been doing it since my childhood. I was thinking of doing many things. I had passion. But naturally, it’s not possible to do everything at once. True. But I can pull them and fit them as a solution by mixing them in other ways. Then you get a new topic, a new theme to work on and talk about.

One thing I always say to writers is, don’t just sit to write. Gather experience, do something in your life, then write about it. Look, you won’t face a lack of topics to talk about. On the flip side, being one-dimensional is like putting all your eggs in one basket. If the basket falls, then every egg is broken. So, if you separate them into baskets, then if one breaks, you have other fresh eggs. Treat it like that about being multi-dimensional. Otherwise, you will risk it, as being one-dimensional is risky.
