Neuro Marketing

Back in 2015, while I was doing my Bachelor’s in Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology, my favourite course was Neuroscience.

It was fascinating!

My passion for writing eventually led me to discover a new topic: neuromarketing.

The more I learned about neuromarketing and storytelling, the more it captured my interest.

Over time, it turned into a passion I couldn’t ignore.

A new Genre.

and I can tell you about this Genra.

Neuromarketing —you’ll be just fascinated as well!

Because, you don’t know what goes on behind the scenes of big brands!

How they’re manipulating you in advanced ways without you even realising it!

Those are-

1. Your Emotions Are Their Secret Weapon

Think about the last time you bought something. Was it logical? Probably not. Brands know emotions drive decisions, and they’re experts at pulling those strings. That heartwarming holiday ad? It’s not just cute—it’s designed to make you feel something so you associate their product with happiness. Fear-based ads? Same idea. They tap into your anxiety to make their solution feel urgent. When you feel first and think second, you’re an easy target.

2. Everything You See, Hear, and Touch Is Engineered

From the colour of a logo to the music playing in a store, nothing is random. Red makes you act fast—it’s why sale signs are always red. Blue? It builds trust, which is why banks and tech companies love it. Even the packaging of products is designed based on eye-tracking studies. Brands know exactly where your attention goes on a shelf or screen, and they design to win it. That jingle stuck in your head? That’s not an accident either.

3. They Know You Better Than You Know Yourself

Personalised ads? It’s not just clever—it’s science. Brands track what you click, watch, and buy to predict what you’ll want next. They create offers that feel tailor-made for you because they’ve already mapped out your behaviour. And then there’s scarcity—“Only 3 left!”—which triggers your FOMO and makes you buy now. Combine that with social proof, like reviews and bestseller labels, and suddenly you’re convinced everyone else loves this product, so you must need it too.

Neuromarketing isn’t magic—it’s a science of influence. The more you understand how it works, the better you’ll be at spotting it and making decisions that you control, not your emotions.
